SC returns Aslam Beg's review petition

23 November, 2012

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Thursday returned former army chief Mirza Aslam Beg's review petition in the Asghar Khan case verdict after imposing procedural objections.

According to details, SC's Registrar Office has turned down the petition raising the objection that request about the replacement of the counsel was not filed in a proper manner.

The petitioner has hired Barrister Ali Zafar to contest his case in the review petition. Beg on Wednesday filed the review petition under Article 188 of the constitution, praying for expunging the observations and remarks given in the judgement against him regarding his involvement in the matter of furnishing and distributing funds to manipulate the 1990 general election or taking instructions from the then president or giving instructions to the then ISI director general.

End.
