SC rejects petition for delay of NRO case hearing

13 January, 2012

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has rejected a petition of the Attorney General filed for delay of NRO implementation case's hearing on Thursday.

The Attorney General, Molvi Anwar-ul-Haq pleaded the Supreme Court in his petition that due to his over burden of work the hearing of NRO implementation case should be delayed further.

The Attorney General added in his plea that due to hearing of Memo Commission on January 16 he will have to attend both hearing on same date and it would be difficult to be present in both hearings on same day so NRO implementation case's hearing should be postponed.

The Supreme Court rejected plea of postponement and instructed the Attorney General to ensure attending the NRO implementation case's hearing on the scheduled date.

End.
