SC approves amended draft of Swiss letter

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has approved the draft letter submitted before the apex court by Law Minister Farooq H. Naek this morning to be written to the Swiss Authorities in the NRO implementation case.
The draft letter contains that former attorney general Malik Qayyum letter should be treated as withdrawn. It further states that it should be considered that Malik Qayyum had never written such a letter.
The letter also mentions the immunity to the President.
Later talking to media in the Supreme Court premises‚ Law Minister Farooq H. Naek said that today is the day of the victory for justice‚ law and the democracy.
He said the sacrifices rendered by Benazir Bhutto Shaheed‚ President Asif Ali Zardari and other workers brought fruit to maintain the democracy.
The Law Minister dispelled the impression that some deal has been made in connection with the approval of the draft letter.
He said everything is transparent. He said we conveyed our reservations to the apex court and similarly the court expressed its reservations. Now all reservations have removed and everything is settled.
Farooq H. Naek said no question does arise of the trial of the President as no money has been plundered.
