Road accidents... By Hashim

17 January, 2014

Twenty-one ill-fated innocent schoolchildren, both boys and girls, have been killed in a fatal road accident at Daulatpur, Nawabshah (Benazirabad) when a speedy truck collided head-on with the school van. Road accidents have become quite frequent in Pakistan. There have been some serious accidents of late that claimed the lives of innocent children. Many commissions have been formed following the accidents, without bringing the culprits to book. In most of the cases the driver escapes from the accident scene and is rarely arrested. This must come to an end.

Government should compel the schools through regulations to follow some standing operating procedures in transporting children from schools to home and vice versa.
