Revised policy on drones soon: Mukhtar

17 October, 2011

LAHORE: Defence Minister Ahmed Mukhtar said on Sunday the US must not test his government's patience on drones and the government would unveil a revised policy on drone attacks soon.

He was talking to the media during his visit to Shaikh Zayed Hospital on Sunday where he inquired about the health of patients. To a question, he said Pakistan was a responsible nuclear power and couldn't accept the killing of its people in drone strikes.

Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khan Khosa and Board of Investment Chairman Saleem Mandiwala also accompanied him. They went to the dengue patient ward and inquired about the health of patients. They also asked about the provision of medical facilities being given to the patients in the hospital.

On the occasion, the governor handed over dengue medicines imported from Germany and asked the doctors to give feedback regarding the recovery of patients treated with the medicines, so that more hospitals could benefit from it.

End.
