ISLAMABAD: Renowned novel and drama writer Mansha Yad was laid to rest in Islamabad on Sunday.

Hundreds of people belonging to different walks of life including writers, poets and educationists attended the funeral prayers of Mansha Yad who died of heart attack on Saturday at the age of 76. The deceased has left behind a widow, three sons and a daughter. His real name was Muhammad Mansha, born on September 05, 1937 in a village near Hafizabad. He authored his first novel in 1955 while his first collection of novels was published in 1975.

The writer was conferred the coveted President's Pride of Performance Award in 2004 in recognition of his services rendered in the field of art and literature.
