Release of Mullah Baradar... By Sohail

What a country! We live in constant fear of terror attacks and have learned to live life as 'half citizens' because the writ of the state is constantly under threat, depriving us of our rights and welfare. In the midst of all this mayhem, if we do manage to catch some terrorists, all we do is release them for the flimsiest reasons.
Case in point: the release of top militant commander Mullah Baradar from detention in Karachi where he had been kept since 2010. He is the mastermind behind some of the most terrifying attacks in Pakistan and Afghanistan but he has been freed by the state. How can we ever expect to live in a safe and progressive country when this is our excuse for law and order?
