Rejection of resolution on guru exposes pro-India politicians: APHC

SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that refusal to admit the resolution in the so-called Legislative Assembly on return of Guru's body has exposed the hypocrisy of the pro-India political parties.
Mirwaiz Umar Forooq in a media interview in Srinagar said that the pro-India political parties were following Delhi's diktats and following its agenda in the so-called Assembly.
He said, "Right since its establishment, decisions against Kashmiris' interests have been taken and passed in the assembly. They only discuss and pass those bills and resolutions which are backed by New Delhi," he added.
He said the rejection of resolution seeking return of Afzal Guru's body was condemnable apart from being unconstitutional and illegal. "This should serve as an eye opener to the people of valley who the political parties are trying to hoodwink through their deceitful tactics. Now their crocodile tears have been exposed," the APHC) Chairman said.
He said the pro-India politicians have turned Kashmir into a police state. "They have handed over the territory to police and in turn they do whatever they wish," he added.
The veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani in his statement said no hope should be pinned on the assembly regarding the political future of the territory since it lacks the required authority.
"The legislators enacted a drama in the assembly as per the script written by their masters in Delhi. Some body boycotted the assembly with the hope to get a political job in future. Some others on the directives of the dictators in Centre rejected the resolution and did not discuss it," he said.
He described the role of MLAs and chief minister as shameful. "They do not have the courage to confront their masters. The legislators in the territory must learn a lesson from the role played by Tamil Nadu government for their national cause," he said and referred to the stand taken on the mercy petition about the accused in Rajiv Gandhi murder case.
The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Leader (JKLF) Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik said it was a historical fact that the so-called Assembly has always played anti-people role right from 1947. "Rejecting the Guru's resolution has exposed the dual standards of pro-India leaders. When they want votes from the people, they speak in a different tone, but when it comes to peoples' emotions and sentiments, they have a different face," he said.
