Randhawa killing: Police get remand of MQM activist

KARACHI: The ATC on Monday gave orders for physical remand of MQM's Kazim Abbas Rizvi (the man arrested in the killing of advocate Naimat Ali Randhawa) until October 18.
Police presented Rizvi before the ATC under strict security, following which his remand was ordered. A member of MQM Unit 178, Shahid AIG of Karachi Police had disclosed his arrest to public on Tuesday.
According to Hayat, the accused in the murder had confessed to killing Randhawa ( prosecutor in Wali Babar's murder case ( a reporter associated with a private TV channel killed in 2011. Several witnesses of the murder were killed one after the other, which has also attracted the apex court's attention.
Moreover, Rizvi is allegedly involved in targeted killings of eight other people, the AIGP had said, adding that raids were being conducted to arrest three of his other accomplices. Police also claimed to recover a 9MM pistol with five rounds from Rizvi's possession.
