Rana Sanaullah sees 6-month delay in polls

FAISALABAD: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Tuesday predicted up to six-month delay in local government elections, saying the delimitation work could not be completed in two or four days.
Rana Sanaullah also said that the government wants to hold peace talks with elements that are ready to accept the state and the constitution.
Talking to media, he severely criticised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying that "unwise decisions" had adversely affected Imran Khan. He urged upon the PTI chief to show courage and expose elements behind the bomb attack on Amir Muqam.
Responding to a question, Rana Sanaullah said local government elections could be delayed by six months. It is noteworthy that following the postponement of local bodies elections in Punjab, the nomination papers of over two hundred thousand candidates have gone to waste.
However, ECP sources have said that the candidates should keep safe the receipts of the paid fees, as these would be valid after new poll schedule.
