Raja Riaz accuses Shahbaz of holding dual nationality
04 October, 2012
LAHORE: Accusing Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif of holding dual nationality, opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly Raja Riaz on Wednesday asked the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to probe the matter and declared the chief minister "disqualified".
Speaking to the media, the PPP leader said he would write to ECP to launch an investigation against Shahbaz Sharif.
Responding to Raja's claim, PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah said the PPP leader should instead move court, adding that he would face defeat in the case. He added Interior Minister Rehman Malik had also accused the chief minister of holding dual nationality but he later backed out from his statement.
Sanaullah said Raja Riaz had levelled allegations on the chief minister only to make headlines.
