Punjab govt sacks 55 doctors

LAHORE: The Punjab government on Saturday sacked 55 doctors who remained absent from their duties for more than a year.

Earlier, the government has terminated services of 90 doctors for the same reason. According to a government spokesman, all such doctors are doing jobs abroad while drawing salaries from the provincial government.

The spokesman further said that action was being taken against 350 other doctors.
