Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, senior leader of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC), Professor Abdul Ghani Butt has said that he is writing an autobiography titled "Beyond me". According to Kashmir Media Service, Professor Abdul Ghani disclosed this while addressing a launching ceremony of a book titled "Kashmiri Muslims: an historical outline" by former director colleges Kashmir, Professor Muzaffer Khan. Earlier, while reviewing Professor Muzaffer Khan's book, Dr Sheikh Showkat Hussain, who teaches law at Kashmir University in Srinagar, said the book was a valuable attempt to present the people's history of Kashmir. "We have failed to produce our own history and the ones produced by outsiders or others have been narrated from biased perspectives or are subjected to distortions," he said. Speaking on the occasion, Professor Hameeda Nayeem, who teaches at the Kashmir University's English Department, said that for past many years attempts were being made to frame the history of Kashmir within India's nationalistic discourse. "The work by Prof Muzaffer Khan is worth praising to present our own history in our own perspective," she added. End.
