President's office supreme: AG

31 August, 2012

LAHORE: Attorney General of Pakistan (AG) Irfan Qadir said on Thursday the office of president was superior to that of judges and courts should, therefore, respect that office.

Speaking to the media at the Lahore High Court, the AG said courts had no jurisdiction to issue a notice to the president and "everyone should maintain sanctity of the highest office".

He also said the president had the powers to keep any office of his choice and courts had no powers to issue a notice in this regard.

End.
