Politicians always sacrificed for democracy: Zahid Khan
03 January, 2014
ISLAMABAD: ANP's senator Zahid Khan has scoffed at hollow and tall claims of Musharraf, reminding that politicians had always sacrificed for democracy, while a dictator lacked courage to face Court.
Talking to private TV channel on Thursday, he cited examples of PPP's Z.A. Bhutto who bravely faced the gallows, while Benazir Bhutto sacrificed her life for the cause of democracy.
Zahid Khan appealed to Court to ensure that Musharraf never slipped abroad, and while replying to a question, said that Musharraf should never be allowed to proceed abroad, even on medical grounds; "since there is no dearth of competent medical institutions in Country" he said, citing the ready availability of AFIC (Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology).
"Pakistani dictators never respected masses' mandate and parliament's rule, as an elected Prime Minister was interned in a narrow filthy cell, while even being denied any medical respite for about 18 months".
"Is this the caliber of an Army commando?" he questioned, stressing that Musharraf should be summoned in Court of law and the case should be concluded to its logical end.
