Police vs Common man
03 May, 2015
Police of the Sindh Province adopts discriminating attitude towards civilians. Yesterday my father went to the police station to lodge a report of theft. The officer on duty asked him to wait. Meanwhile agents of a political personality came; they were not only offered seats but their report was also lodged immediately.
It is same throughout the Province. Increasing political influence in police matters, defective training of police personnel and intervening pressure from Ministries on the Police Officers are the main reasons for this discriminatory treatment by the police meted out to different strata of society.
Hence the political influence should be uprooted from the police stations, the training of police officials should be updated and brought at par with the other free nations of the world and the Police officers should be given sufficient powers so that they can withstand the pressure from higher quarters. I hope that the conscientious high ups in police shall realise the falling image of police to restore and improve the integrity and credibility of police in the eye of general public.
