Police van crushes youth to death

LASHKARGAH: A police van crushed a motorcyclist to death in Helmand's capital on Thursday.
A man and his son were riding on their motorcycle when a police van ran over them, a resident of Lashkargah told the Afghan Islamic Press (AIP). The man sustained injuries while his son was killed in the incident, he added.
"The police also beaten up the injured man after the accident," the resident told the AIP, saying the police were on fault in the incident. The police escaped from the area, he lamented.
Official sources in Lashkargah confirmed the incident and told the AIP the security forces had launched an investigation into the matter.
