LAHORE: Police on Sunday arrested a woman who tried to forcibly marry her 13-year-old daughter to a 35-year-old man on Saturday. The woman was identified as Taslima Kausar, a resident of Misri Shah. Police said Farzana was living with Taslima and her second husband, Akhtar. Taslima was forcibly marrying Farzana to Tahir, a rickshaw driver, on Saturday when police reached there on the complaint of girl's uncle, Niaz. However, Tahir and his family escaped the venue before police could arrest them. Misri Shah SHO Mudassar Khan told that Farzana managed to call her uncle Niaz for rescue four hours before the arrival of Tahir and his family. Farzana's relatives alleged that her mother had received money from Tahir to marry her daughter off to him. Taslima, however, denied these allegations. End.
