HERAT: A police officer was killed and three more policemen sustained injuries in an improvised explosive device blast in Chakhansor district in Nimroz province Sunday.

A police vehicle struck an IED in Dum Jo area in Chakhansor district, leaving a police officer identified as Abdul Aziz dead and three more policemen injured, the Nimroz deputy police chief Abdul Rahim Chakhansori told the Afghan Islamic Press (AIP).

The injured police personnel were taken to the hospital where two of them were stated to be in critical condition. No one has claimed responsibility for the blast till filling of this report.
