Police baton charge injures 7 flood victims

QUETTA: At least seven flood victims, including five women, were wounded when police resorted to baton charge during a distribution of relief items in Naseerabad district, on Tuesday.

Provincial Minister and PPP Balochistan President Mir Sadiq Umrani distributed rations amongst flood victims in Chattar area of Naseerabad.

Soon after Umrani had left, the flood victims clashed with police. Resultantly the police baton charged due to which seven people, including five women, were injured. The injured were later shifted to a nearby medical camp for treatment. Following the incident, the infuriated protesters held a demonstration outside the Nothal Police Station. They chanted slogans against the provincial minister and the police.
