Police at passport office... By Saeed
14 January, 2013
Right in front of the High Court premises on Shahrah-e-Iraq, passport touts and thieves of car accessories thrive. A thief stole the precious side-mirror of my brand new Toyota on January 2. I reported it to the area SHO, who took no action. The next day a person approached me to sell the genuine side-mirror for Rs 2,500 while the original is available for Rs 8,600. When I asked him where he got this accessory from, he ran away. Several people have complained against this well-planned stealing industry, but the police authorities do not act upon citizens' complaints. The police also take money from touts encroaching upon the footpaths and illegal parking of auto-rickshaws. This prevents advocates like me from going to the High Court from our office situated near the Saddar Passport Office. Police officials enter the High Court premises from the Sharhah-e-Iraq entrance but take no remedial action. ABDUL SAEED KHAN GHORI
