Police arrest 5 militants

KABUL: Afghan police have arrested 5 militants during series of operations across the conflict- ridden country over the past 24 hours, Interior Ministry said in a statement released here Wednesday. The operations, according to the statement carried out in Baghlan, Wardak, Kandahar, Zabul and Paktika provinces during which a number of arms and ammunitions including 49 anti-vehicle mines, two assault rifles and 1,010 kg explosive material were also seized by police.
