LAHORE: Former Supreme Court Bar Association president Asma Jahangir has said the establishment was planning to kill her, but she would keep her mission alive.
Talking to reporters at her Gulberg office, she said she came to know about the plan of her murder through an insider who advised her to remain cautious and alert. Without disclosing name of the informer, she claimed the information she learned was reliable.
She said she was ready to pay any price in the vital interest of the nation and would continue her struggle for the rights of the people.
She said the rangers' personnel were deployed at her home on Monday and she was in contact with the government.
She said that she was invited to a lawyers' seminar and had planned to visit Ireland on Wednesday. However, she cancelled her programme and would stay in Pakistan to give a clear message that she was not afraid of anyone, she added.
End.
