PESHAWAR: A Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) official was killed on Friday while trying to defuse a device in the city, officials said. Hukam Khan, 50, a veteran bomb disposal expert, successfully defused one device but was killed when the second one exploded in Sheikhan village in Badhaber police precincts. "Khan defused first improvised explosive device and was working on the second one but it went off, injuring him. The expert succumbed to his injuries in Lady Reading Hospital," said the officials. Three other police officials were injured in the blast, they added. Sheikhan village has seen many blast and attacks on the police in the past as neighbouring Khyber Agency is used by militant groups to attack the provincial capital. End.
