People fed up with politics of Punjab CM: Elahi

01 July, 2012

LAHORE: Deputy Prime Minister Pervaiz Elahi on Saturday asked the Punjab chief minister not to do politics on problems of people, saying people of the province were fed up with politics of hollow slogans and false allegations.

Elahi was talking to people from all walks of life who came to felicitate him at his residence.

Elected representatives, former nazims, lawyers, industrialists, businessmen, PML-Q leaders and workers and government servants from different districts of Punjab continued to visit the residence of the deputy prime minister and felicitated him on assuming the new office. Elahi said that he was in constant contact with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf regarding overcoming energy crisis and solving people's problems and difficulties. He said that the main objective behind the PML-Q joining the government was to get people's problems resolved on a priority basis and in the shortest possible time. Some delegations also apprised Elahi of their problems and grievances with particular reference to energy crisis and discontinuation of gas supplies to industries. A 15-member delegation of All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) Punjab also called on the deputy prime minister and apprised him about their demands.

APCA delegation members told the deputy prime minister that the association was grateful to him for taking revolutionary steps when he was chief minister.

They regretted that so-called 'Khadim-e-Aala' Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif, instead of taking ahead steps of Elahi, was completely ignoring their problems and demands. APCA Punjab delegation included Haji Muhammad Irshad, Haji Fazal Dad Gujjar, Lala Muhammad Aslam, Muhammad Younis Bhatti, Muhammad Naseer Rahim, Bakhsh Elahi, Zafar Iqbal Kamboh, Mian Ghulam Mustafa, Waseem Ahmad Khan, Iftikhar Ahmad, Wasim Yousuf and Omar Zafar. Federal Minister Sardar Bahadur Khan, MNA Dewan Ashiq Bokhari, former National Assembly speaker Chaudhry Ameer Hussain, former Punjab Assembly speaker Muhammad Afzal Sahi, Tahir Iqbal, former MNA Muhammad Liaquat, Rana Muhammad Sharif Khan, Begum Yasmin, Chaudhry Abdullah Yousuf, Chaudhry Rafiq Ahmad, Khizar Hayat Mangat, Mushtaq Gurmani, Rana Tariq Shehzad, Omar Virk, Jackson John, Aamer Shehzad were also present on the occasion.

End.
