Pearls of wisdom... By Ali

17 January, 2014

The English textbook for Class X published by the Sindh Textbook Board carries a poem, "The Voice of God" written by Luise I. Newman. The opening stanzas of the poem read:I sought to hear the voice of GodAnd climbed the topmost steepleBut God declared: "Go down again,I dwell among the people."The lines above explain the way to God: living among the people, with peace, love and harmony, not the way that we have adopted: killing, maiming and hurting people for their religious beliefs.

One wishes that the teachers of our schools enter these pearls of wisdom into the hearts of their students so that they become real human beings and not just some Muslims without having any value for human life and dignity.
