Parliament should complete tenure: Khurshid

SUKKUR: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah has said Pakistan People's Party does not demand mid-term poll in the country.
Talking to newsmen in Sukkur on Saturday‚ he said the Parliament should complete its constitutional tenure‚ as it is necessary for the strengthening of democracy in the country.
Replying to a question about the protest rally being organized by Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf in Lahore tomorrow‚ Khurshid Shah said every party has a right to lodge peaceful protest on any issue in democracy.
He hailed the judgment of the International Court of Arbitration on Kishanganga Dam.
Syed Khurshid Shah has said that the issue of Kishanganga Dam is a matter of life and death for Pakistan.
He said General Ayub had handed over the river to India at a time when country's population stood at only 30 million, and by that time he had no idea that the country's population would rise to 200 million.
Replying to a question, Khurshid Shah said missile strikes were against the country's sovereignty, adding that foreign office should strengthen its case on this matter.
Replying to another question, he said peace talks with the Taliban should be given a chance, failing which actions could eventually be taken against the militants.
