03 October, 2012
GARDEZ: The Paktiya Governor Jumma Khan Hamdard has asked the foreign forces not to conduct night time operations. This he said in a meeting between the Afghan forces and their international partners at the Paktiya Governor's House on Tuesday, a press release available with the Afghan Islamic Press (AIP) stated. The statement issued by the provincial governor's office said the governor demanded representatives of the international forces to stop the arbitrary operations because they cause casualties to civilians. The governor told the international forces that their arbitrary and night time operations would put into jeopardy the strategic partnership agreement between Afghanistan and America, the press release maintained. "You can share your information with the Afghan security forces who will then conduct operations in the province. Our security forces are capable to conduct operations on accurate tip-offs," the governor told representatives of the international troops. It's pertinent to mention here the foreign forces conducted operation on a wedding ceremony in Chino area of Syed Karam district last week, killing a person and arresting nine more. End.
