'Pakistani officials' statements affecting Afghans in country'

ISLAMABAD: The Afghan embassy on Tuesday said that statements of Pakistani security officials were causing problems for the Afghan nationals in Pakistan. In a message, a spokesman of the Afghan embassy said the recent statements by Adviser to the Prime Minister on Interior Affairs Rehman Malik had especially enhanced problems of the Afghan nationals in Pakistan. The embassy's spokesman Zardasht Shams told our sources that top leadership of Pakistan and Afghanistan had signed several MoUs to enhance people-to-people contact, adding that the efforts were being affected by the statements of some Pakistani security officials. Such problems not only disturb the Afghans travelling to Pakistan but also the Afghan refugees in Pakistan, he added. He further said that Kabul appreciated the cooperation extended by Pakistan regarding the Afghan refuges living in the country for last 30 years. End.
