Pakistan to earn about USD 2b through auction of 3-G spectrum: Dar

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has said the country expects to earn about two billion dollars through auction of 3-G spectrum.

He was talking to a delegation of Telenor led by its CEO Jon Fredrik Baksaas here on Friday

The Minister‚ however‚ said the Government has taken a conservative figure of 1.2 billion dollars for budgetary purposes.

Ishaq Dar said the government led by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is known for its business friendly policies and believes that the corporate sector should be further facilitated.

Ishaq Dar who also chairs the Spectrum Auction License Committee said there is a lot of interest being shown by Telecom sector in the auction of next generation spectrum license and assured that the process of auction would be smooth and transparent.
