Pakistan releases 108 Indian prisoners

KARACHI: Over 180 out of 542 Indians prisoners, violators of territorial border lines of Pakistan, were released on Saturday here from the district jail Malir after completing their sentence. According to the details, there were some 542 prisoners detained in the jails of Pakistan out of them, 180 inmates completed their sentence and were released from Malir jail. IG Prisons Sindh Ghulam Qadir Thebo, when contacted, said that most of the prisoners had finished their detention period and were released to strengthen the bilateral relations between both the countries. Release orders were given for 179 Indian fishermen and one other Indian national detained in Pakistani Jails. They are scheduled to leave Pakistan via Wagah border on Sunday. IG prison said that 179 Indians were fishermen while the other detainee had mistakenly crossed Pakistani territory. End.
