Pakistan postpones granting MFN status to India

26 February, 2013

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has postponed the grant of the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status to India, media reported.

A private TV channel reported on Monday, the process of granting MFN status to India was underway and a clause was also included in the trade policy in this regard that was suspended in the final phase.

The decision was withdrawn after the adverse criticism by Pakistani industrialists, investors and traders.

The TV channel reported that it further disclosed that the decision of granting MFN status to India has been left for the next government.

End.
