Pakistan govt nominates Edhi for Nobel Peace Prize

KARACHI: On the directive of prime minister, government has submitted a formal nomination for Abdul Sattar Edhi to the 2012 Nobel committee.

This nomination is in partnership with 'Edhi for Nobel Peace Prize', a campaign launched by SOC Films and Peter Oborne, Chief Political Commentator of the Daily Telegraph.

The initiative includes an online petition and a letter writing campaign aimed at galvanising support and awareness for Edhi's nomination.

To date, over 75,000 signatures have been amassed and hundreds of letters have been sent to individuals who are in a position to submit nominations to the Nobel Committee.
