Pak wants to bolster its ties with Russia: Musharraf

ISLAMABAD: President General Pervez Musharraf Friday said Pakistan recognizes Russia`s important role and influence around the world.
He observed this while talking to Russian Prime Minister Mikhial Fradkov who called on him here. During the meeting the two leaders exchanged views on important regional and global issues as well as ways and means of consolidating bilateral relations.
The president said it was Pakistan`s desire to consolidate further its relations with the Russian Federation and to open up new areas of collaboration.
The president underlined that vast opportunities existed for collaboration between the two countries in diverse sectors such as oil and gas, railways, water and power promotion of trade and defence sales.
The Russian prime minister conveyed a special written message addressed to President Pervez Musharraf from President Putin. The Russian prime minister reciprocated the sentiments expressed by the president in terms of opening a new chapter in Pak-Russia bilateral relations. He said that Pakistan enjoyed an important place in Russia`s foreign policy and that Russia deeply appreciated Pakistan`s endeavours towards peace, amity and prosperity in the region.
Later Russian Prime minister concluding his three day visit to Pakistan left for Russia.
Federal minister for Communication Shamim Siddiqui saw him off at PAF Airbase Chaklala.Pakistan Ambassador to Russia Mustafa Kamal, Russian ambassador to Pakistan and other high ranking officials were also present on the occasion.

Pakistan's very important geo stretegic location makes it imperarative for our country to be conducive for global peace.We have to make sure that we are peace centered rather than becoming killing fields if the world turns to ugly brinkmanship for which the race is on betwen the world's mighty ones.
Pakistan's message of peace is for all mighty nations.Pakistan can host economic development on its soil as the main tool for global promotion of peace while cast off wars or availing itself as spring field or staging point of any aggression against any nation. Invasion routes are completely forbiden from our soil, period.
Pakistan has peace message as much strong for Russia as much it is for America or China.We are peace loving nation and let us do all business within the confines of peace.
The Russian prime minister Mikhial Fradkov is visiting Pakistan at a time when we need all major powers of the world to work with us on global peace agendas.The Russian prime minister is here when the Russians confidence in their country is bolstered significantly due to very high revenues from sales of oil and gas.He is here at a time when Russia and China have developed a very strong partnership to the extent that the world is now behaving more or less like multi polar.So strong has grown partnership between Russia and China that Russia is subcontracting its oil and gas to China even if east of Urals becomes Chinese majority land.Massive gas pipe lines are in the planning stage that could transport upward of five trillion cubic feet of gas per year through as many as three mega pipe lines.
Russia has the largest gas reserves in the world and are estimated at 1600 trillion cubic feet. Even if you do some discounting of hydrates in Siberian gas and some sour contents,Russia is sitting on more than 1300 trillion cubic feet of hydrocarbon gas.
The combined oil and gas reserves of Russia puts the country in a special league of only three countries in the world that have combined hydrocarbon reserves equivalent of over 300 billion barrels.These trio of richest countries energy wise are Iran, Russia and Saudi Arabia.
Pakistan is in extremely active process of developing ports that will facilitate trade with central Asia and Russia.There will be two branched energy and trade transport routes from Pakistan. One will be to central Asia and Russia and the other one will facilitate China and India.Pakistan can fit in that very auspicious partnership that will facilitate one or more warm water ports to Russia as the warm water port has been the historic dream of Russia for ever.
Russia has the world's largest gas company Gazprom that controls one quarter of the world gas. Russia is working on the global gas partner ship with Iran, Qatar, Venezuela and Algeria and that will put more than 70 percent of the gas being worked by Russia and its partners. Russia and Iran together have half of world's gas. And for oil, Russia is one of the seven oil richest countries with Russia's oil reserves in excess of 70 billion barrels. And these elite seven are Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, venezuela, Abu Dhabi and Russia.
Russia can play a very important technical function to find and develope oil and gas in Pakistan. It can develope energy and other industries like mining and agriculture where the Russians are among the leading nations.
The country Ruissia still has the legacies of being super power and it is bouncing back again. The country is the only one in history to have bounced back more than any mighty nation in the past. Sole super powers came and went, but Russia has kept its super power status on and off for many centuries.
Russia is bouncing back again and its partnership with China is giving clear signals to the world that other powers do matter in world affairs very strongly.The sole super power status of America does not seem to be holding as strong as it was 2-3 years ago.
And the enhanced relations between Russia and Pakistan and between China and Pakistan are not at the expanse of any nation including America. As a matter of fact improved relations with Russia of Pakistan is the peace signal to the world. The very essence of these peace signals is that all big powers matter to Pakistan for world peace reasons.Pakistan just cannot ignore any big power. This has also put India Pakistan relations on peace track.
SO, THERE IS PEACE-PEACE AND WIN WIN SITUATION FOR PAKISTAN AND RUSSIA ON MUTUAL PARTNERSHIP. PAKISTAN WILL USE ITS GEO-STRETEGIC SITUATION TO FULLEST CAPACITY TO MAKE SURE THAT PEACE PREVAILS ALL OVER THE WORLD.THIS ALSO GIVES THE MESSAGE TO THE WORLD THAT PAKISTAN WILL NEVER BE CONDUCIVE OR EN ROUTE INVASION FACILITATOR TO ANY COUNTRY OF THE WORLD.
WITH PEACE AS PIVOTAL FUNCTION, PAKISTAN WILL LOVE TO SEE DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS BEING SHARED WITH RUSSIA.
PAKISTAN STANDS FOR PEACE WHETHER IT IS RELATIONSHIP WITH AMERICA, RUSSIA, CHINA, INDIA OR ANY OTHER COUNTRY.
