KARACHI: Pakistani authorities have arrested 45 Indian fishermen from Pakistan’s territorial waters in the Arabian Sea.

The Maritime Security Agency (MSA) personnel arrested these fishermen during routine patrolling.

According to an MSA statement, the fishermen were caught while fishing in Sir Creek, a disputed area on the maritime border of Sindh and the Indian state of Gujarat. The MSA authorities also seized their fishing boats along with the catch. Arrested Indian fishermen will be handed over to police today.

It is not the first time that Pakistani authorities have arrested Indian fishermen, just few months ago MSA had arrested 59 Indian fishermen and seized 10 fishing boats for violating the Pakistan’s maritime borders.
