Pak-US relations on hold for re-evaluation: FM Hina

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar has warned Washington against pushing Islamabad to go after terrorist groups or bringing them to the Afghan peace process.
"Now that the re-evaluation process is underway as we speak, so till the time that re-evaluation process is not completed, we cannot start the reengagement," the minister said in an interview with Reuters on Thursday.
The November 26 NATO attack on the border with Afghanistan, which killed 24 Pakistani soldiers, plunged relations between Washington and Islamabad to their chilliest levels in years.
Yet Khar struck a positive note, stressing the long alliance was vital for the two countries. "I think this will also give us the ability, if we play it right, to strengthen the partnership and to make it much, much more effective," she said.
"Let me categorically say that we consider our relations and our relationship with the US to be an extremely important one."
Khar said proposals for the tenor and rules for relations with the US could be out within days.
The foreign minister rejected some media reports that Islamabad had snubbed a request by US Special Envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan Marc Grossman to visit, saying it was a matter of choosing a more beneficial time.
Pakistan argues that the United States needs to be patient and gain a greater understanding of the region's complexities before acting, and that pressure would only hurt efforts to pacify Afghanistan.
'Push' is never wise. I think that every country must be allowed to develop their own strategy and their own timing, said Khar, stressing that another incursion by NATO or the US would be harmful.
"What is unacceptable to Pakistan is to have any troops on the ground. What is unacceptable to Pakistan is not to respect the inviolability of our borders," she said. "All of these things make it more difficult for us to be an effective partner."

Don't give up America as friend, but the greatest to live with and watch is China |
Hina is wise to re-evaluate relations with America as friend of continuity with some adjustments. She is even trying to bring India by amicably looking at the adversary from the corner of her eye. Hope she can score some positivity there, but they key thing is to change the Indian public mind set of anti Pak modes that is till showing resistence to change right at the heart. Let us hope that Indian press will show some positivity and Indian public change for the better as that corner of Hina's eye wishes.
But, sans doubt,China is the greatest phenomenon to watch from now on.China is Pak's next door neighbour and the soon to be super and then sole super power.We live as neighbour there and Paks have to prioritize that relationship with neighbourly hugs and pats of the dragon.
I would definitely bring in the subject of energy(oil, gas, power) use and steel production and car production into this discussion as these five economy building pillars build the economy and reflect the urgency to build the might with capacitated strength.
In the global economies, these five pillars(oil, gas, power, steel, cars) function to make nations wealthy and strong. The dollar value of these five pillars dominate as the priciple causes to dictate where a country stands. Oil refining is the biggeat in dollar value amongst the five. Leaving aside the services and offshoot indusries associated with each economy builder, oil refining alone worldwide is worth 5 trillion dollars for the 85 mbpd refined globally.The others(gas, power, steel and car production) are worth 1-1.2 trillion dollars each globally.
China has surpassed America in steel, cars and power and trails in gas and oil. Again, oil refining will decide it all by 2020 or around.China's oil refining stands at 10.5 bbpd and will be 14 mbpd by 2015 against America's 18 mbpd. This single most important economy builder is to watch from now on.The day China becomes no 1 oil refining nation, it will be wealthiest, strongest.

Peace and military neutrality must be pivotal of Pak friendship with others. |
Perhaps the drive of Hina's assertions of re-evaluation is the re-orientate Pak more to peace and absolute neutrality in military terms. Mitigating terror is OK, and Paks can accomodate and be partners with any one who wants to rid of terror. But military allignment with the mightiest can be annihilation and not just danger if they really fight it out with Armageddon. It will be suicidal to get caught into the grinding wheels or be pulverized by the grinding stones by sleeping with the armies of the mightiest. Pakistan is too small and does not fit in the big war equation if that Armageddon does show is ultimate deadly and ugly face. For non terror military embroilments of the mighty ones, Hina will be wise to say adios as we love life of all humanity.American, Chinese, Indian and every other life including ours is preciously dear. War is out and peace is welcome and in by us Paks.
We must not forget at any instance or breath that peace is the foremost aim and wish of us Paks. There is going to be dangers and Paks have to stay out of those dangers as America and China will be the only candidates to be on the first spot that will dominate the globe. At times one might think that war on terror or even Iran are just the windows to watch that ultimate thing to happen and that is China going on the very top.
Energy use will dictate it all in the end. China has positioned itself with layers of protected procurement to be there. China's acquisition of energy is variegated-from Siberia, Venezuella, Central Asia and middle East, especially Iran. China has about 4 trillion dollars saved up to play that energy game and is suceeding. Russia sold Alaska to america and won Siberia from China in 1860-1870. Siberia has qurater of world's gas and 85 percent of Russia's oil.Russia is allowing China to be majority developer and future user of that oil and gas with Chinese settlements there to take it all.
2020 or around will be big surprise.
