PSM workers to get Rs 6,000 to Rs 15,000 raise in salaries

KARACHI: Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) workers will get an increase of Rs 6,000 to Rs 15,000 in their salaries from this month, besides enhancement of their other allowances after approval of the 'Charter of Demands for 2010-12' submitted by PSM People's Workers Union (CBA). Chairman PSM People's Workers Union (CBA) Shamshad Qureshi announced this while speaking at a function at the union office on Friday. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah was the chief guest and Federal Minister Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah was the guest of honour on this occasion. Dr Nasrullah Baloch MPA, Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh Rashid Rabbani, Special Assistants to CM Syed Waqar Mehdi, Siddique Abu Bhai and Salman Murrad were also present. Shamshad Qureshi congratulated the workers and said that the union got this charter approved despite many hurdles and financial stress on Pakistan Steel. He further said the arrears on this account would be given in phases. End.
