06 August, 2012
MULTAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Makhdoom Javed Hashmi, on Sunday, said that a campaign was being carried out by the PPP to create confrontation with the judiciary. Addressing a press conference at his residence in Multan, he said, "Judiciary is the only institution upon which our system is based." He added that the country would suffer severely if the PPP-led alliance confronted judiciary. "PPP only has a one-point agenda, which is to clash with judiciary, and for it, it is using its coalition partners as well," he maintained. The PTI president termed confrontation among institutions as the "destruction of the country" amid deteriorating law and order situation in the provinces. He also demanded shifting of overseas assets of politicians to Pakistan. Talking about allegations by PML-N against Imran Khan, Hashmi condemned what he termed, the propaganda launched by the party against Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital He said the hospital was a welfare institute and different welfare institutions had introduced endowment funds to continue financial operations in hard times. He said the Sharif brothers had made the government a part of their earning. He alleged that millions of rupees were being spent on their houses on daily basis. "Mian brothers use to throw party workers out who raised voices inside or outside of the party. They are businessmen but they have to bring their assets from London to Pakistan," he said. He said nothing had practically been done by the Punjab government in southern Punjab, adding that Shahbaz Sharif's announcement about projects in Multan were mere deception. "Over the orders of Shahbaz Sharif, mobile vehicles of police stand outside our houses, is this a practice of a gentleman?" he questioned. "I have faced many dictators and we can not be harassed, I never talked about it in the past but now I am compelled to speak over it," he added. He also said that PTI had not invited Zulfiqar Khosa as of yet, and if the party decided to do so, he would stand by its decision. End.
