PML-Q to sue 'turncoats'

LAHORE: After registration of the Pakistan Muslim League-Likeminded (PML-LM) as a new political party with the Election Commission of Pakistan, the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) has decided to take legal action against the parliamentarians who won their seats on its ticket and now are office-bearers of the PML-LM. Talking to our sources, PML-LM Information Secretary Mian Asif said they had applied to the ECP to be registered as a separate political party and the process had been completed on Wednesday. The PML-LM has appointed Hamid Nasir Chattha as chairman, Arbab Ghulam Rahim as president, Hamayun Akhtar as general secretary and Mian Asif as information secretary. Provincial leadership includes Mian Atta Maneka as Punjab president, Ghaffar Qureshi as Sindh president, Saleem Saifullah as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa president and Akram Zahri as Balochistan president. Asif said the PML-LM had an election alliance with the PML-N. Talking to our sources, PML-Q Information Secretary Akram Chaudhry said his party would file references against the parliamentarians who won their seats on its ticket and later became office-bearers of the PML-LM.
