PML-N wins NA-69, PTI PK-50 by-polls

KHUSHAB: The Pakistan Muslim League's (PML-N) Uzair Muhammad Khan on Thursday unofficially won by-elections in NA-69 Khushab constituency by securing 92,805 votes.

According to unofficial results, Uzair Muhammad Khan bagged 92,805 votes while his rival PTI candidate Umar Aslam got 71,197 votes.

The polling for by-polls in NA-69 commenced at 8am and concluded in a peaceful manner. No untoward incident was reported from any polling station across the constituency.

NA-69 consists of 298 polling stations and there are 337,654 registered voters in the constituency. Elaborate security arrangements were made to ensure security and avoid any untoward incident during the polling.

On the other hand, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's Akbar Ayub unofficially won by-elections in PK-50 Haripur constituency of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly by securing 25,671 votes.

According to unofficial results, Akbar Ayub bagged 25,671 votes while his rival PML-N candidate Qazi Asad got 19,969 votes. Independent candidate Babar Nawaz got 19,417 votes.

The polling for by-polls in PK-50 commenced at 8am and concluded in a peaceful manner. No untoward incident was reported from any polling station across the constituency.

PK-50 consists of 116 polling stations while 23 polling stations were declared most sensitive. There are 84,814 registered male and 68,562 female voters in constituency.

Police had made strict security arrangements at various polling stations. A spokesman for the Police Department said that as many as 1,500 police personnel performed duty during the voting.
