PML-N slams PM's remarks against COAS, ISI chief
10 January, 2012
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Monday strongly reacted to prime minister's interview to the foreign media in which he criticised the army's top brass.
According to a statement released by the party, PML-N Central Information Secretary Mushahidullah Khan said that if the PM thought any institution was crossing its limits, he should perform his constitutional role instead of making hue and cry in his interviews.
The PML-N leader made it clear that all state institutions fall under the ambit of constitution. "But if the prime minister adopts a confrontation path, he should be held responsible, instead of others," he said.
He said the government was intentionally treading on a path of confrontation with the army and the judiciary in order to prove itself a "political martyr".
"The government that has been repeatedly claiming to obey the constitution and law has never implemented the orders of superior judiciary," Mushahid added.
