ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday maintained that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) didn’t believe in the politics of blame game.
Talking to media after appearing before the accountability court here, the former premier refused to comment on a controversy revolving a no-objection certificate (NoC) of the Bani Gala residence submitted by Imran Khan in the Supreme Court. “I am trying to understand the issue and waiting for the facts to emerge,” he said.
While criticising Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman, the PML-N supremo said that he was not a man who would blindly level allegations against anyone. “There will be no difference between me and Imran Khan if I begin making statements on mere allegations,” he added.
He observed that Imran Khan’s current lawyer, Babar Awan, had earlier alleged that PTI chief’s house in Bani Gala was illegal but now he was representing him in the court. To a question, he said he will decide whether to become a party in the case after court decision in the case. Responding to a question, the former premier said that it was beauty of the democratic process that the elected government was bound to face opposition’ criticism patiently. He said that the PTI should do whatever they want to but the next government will be of the PML-N after victory in the upcoming general elections.
