PML-N challenges Imran to prove corruption charges
23 January, 2012
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Sunday asked Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan to prove corruption charges during the tenure of the party's two governments. PML-N Central Information Secretary Mushahidullah Khan said that Imran Khan, the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf were working against the PML-N, whose government in Punjab had produced the best performance among any provincial government across the country. Reacting to Imran Khan's allegations, Mushahiduallh Khan said that the PTI chief was trying to increase his party's stature by unnecessarily criticising the government. He said that people had learnt that Imran Khan's slogan of youth leadership was just eyewash, as leaders who had been supporters of the status quo for more than 60 years had come into the fold of the PTI. The PML-N leader said that Imran Khan was working on an agenda to block party chief Mian Nawaz Sharif's path to power and urged the PTI chief to stop misleading the people. He said that the PML-N had made the country an atomic power by rejecting the offer of billions of dollars aid, and the party had also constructed a network of high-quality roads, including the motorway during its time in government. End.
