KARACHI: Pakistan Muslim League (Functional) accused the Pakistan People's Party of discontinuation of watercourse of its supporters and workers and releasing the channel to influential people belonging to PPP resulting in an acute shortage of water that created concerns amongst the growers.
Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh, General Secretary PML F, along with MPA Jam Madad Ali and Dr Rafiq Bhanbhan, addressing a press conference at the Karachi Press Club on Monday afternoon, demanded of the government to deploy Rangers along the canals of Sindh and immediately shut down 114 watercourses in Sindh.
Despite the ban, the PPP government in its five-year term opened 114 watercourses which, he said, is illegal and unconstitutional and this should immediately be closed after a thorough investigation.
