PM Nawaz approves third phase of Karachi targeted operation

ISLAMABAD: The third phase of the targeted operation in Karachi against extortionists, kidnappers, terrorists and criminals was approved at a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif here on Sunday.
The meeting, attended by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and the DG Rangers, decided to broaden the scope of the Rangers' power to eliminate street crime and violence.A number of important steps were approved for improving law and order in the port city.
Sources said it was decided to further streamline and organise the operation. Investigation into cases of more than 4,000 outlaws involved in crimes of a "Provinces are responsible for electricity division and recovery also," he added.
It is worth mentioning here that the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan had demanded of the federal government that control of Pesco be given to the KP government and the federal government has finally decided to do so.
Meanwhile, the Sindh government will also send a request to the prime minister for control of power generation and distribution companies to Sindh. According to a press release, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah met former president Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday night.
Both the leaders decided that Sindh will also demand the control of power generation and distribution companies of the province from the Centre.A formal request will be made immediately to the federal government in this regard. Both the leaders hoped that the federal government will respond positively in this regard.
