Only a politician can become caretaker PM: Kaira

03 January, 2013

FAISALABAD: Federal Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that only a politician can become the caretaker prime minister.

Talking to newsmen here, Kaira said that a caretaker set-up would be installed in consultation with the opposition and all other political parties. He said if Tahirul Qadri had any proposal for the betterment of electoral process, he must present it to the EC.

"Qadri is not a stakeholder in the system, and if he wants to be a part of it, then he should contest the elections," he said. Kaira said the assemblies would complete their term on March 16, and general elections would be held later.

End.
