Online abuse... By Tasawwar

Due to the excessive use of technological gadgets and internet facility, our children are facing many problems. The adolescents, especially girls, sometimes suffer online. Being a psychologist, I have many studied cases in which people have been the target of abuse. Case studies provide various clues about online abuse, which is currently affecting our children psychologically, physically and socially. The children's overall performance is also being affected. The responsibility of parents is to keep appropriate checks and provide guidance about safety.
In Pakistan there are a few NGOs, which are working for child protection and helping children to learn protective measures regarding abuse. It is also the responsibility of the state to take effective measures regarding the prevention of online abuse. Government and private schools must also establish counseling centres on their campuses where children learn protective measures.
