KUNDUZ: One passenger was killed and 30 others injured during a traffic accident in Pul-i-Khumri, the capital of northern Baghlan province, officials said on Tuesday.

The incident took place at 11:30pm in the Pul-i-Khato area, where a Balkh-bound passenger bus overturned after veering off the road, police spokesman, Jawed Basharat, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said the accident resulted from rash driving and the driver was subsequently arrested. One of the passengers was killed and 22 others injured in the incident.

A doctor on duty at civil hospital, Jawed Ahmad Alamyar, confirmed receiving 31 injured people. One of the wounded men later succumbed to his injuries.
