ABU DHABI: The absconding OGRA Chairman, Tauqir Sadiq who is wanted for causing a massive 80 billion rupee loss to the national exchequer has been arrested in Abu Dhabi by local authorities, our sources reported.

According to our sources, necessary legal formalities are being undertaken in order to shift the accused in the country for further investigation.

According to facts and figures, Tauqeer Sadiq is accused of committing corruption of Rs 80 billion. The Supreme Court has been giving orders for his arrest again and again but authorities did nothing in this regard.

It should be kept in mind that the apex court had order to file a reference against Interior Minister Rehman Malik and PPP leader Jahangir Badar over allegedly providing assistance to the accused (Tauqueer Sadiq) who illegally escaped from the country to abroad.

Moreover, the court also had ordered to file reference against the prime minister Raja Pevez Ashraf who approved the appointment of the accused as chairman Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority.

End.
