Not taken by the 'revolution'... By Shaishta
18 January, 2013
I am completely demotivated by the turn of events this country is witnessing recently. I am more so depressed and suspicious of the fact that the person leading the latest 'revolution' is someone under the guise of being a religious scholar. While I have no reservations or problems with anybody's religious or spiritual beliefs, I do have a problem with how history is littered with examples of men in religious garb using faith to consolidate their power. Most Muslim countries are replete with such examples and I like to think man has the capacity to learn from his mistakes. Mr Qadri is a maulana and whenever a man such as himself has made a rush for power, the citizens have seen their rights reduced and freedoms oppressed in a very short time thereafter. I, for one, am not falling for this revolution. SHAISHTA ASIM
